Bulls' Mirotic to undergo tests after hurting knee in bronze-medal game

Spain's bronze medal at the Rio Olympics may have come at a cost ... to the Chicago Bulls.

Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic is set to undergo tests after banging knees with Australian big man Aron Baynes in the fourth quarter of Sunday's bronze-medal game, NBA.com's John Schuhmann reports.

Mirotic briefly exited the game after the collision - which he called "very strong," and said scared him "a lot" - and though he returned to close the game out, he said the pain in his right knee worsened afterwards.

"Right now, I'm feeling hurt," he said. "But it's OK. We won the medal. That's the most important thing."

If the injury is at all serious, Bulls fans will likely disagree. Mirotic - who was Spain's second-leading scorer (12.9) and rebounder (5.6) in the tournament - is slated to be Chicago's starting power forward next season, and he represents the only above-average shooter on the team's projected starting five.

"Hopefully," he said, "this is nothing."
