Report: Henry Melton to work out for Broncos

Jason Getz / USA TODAY Sports

The Denver Broncos are working out free-agent defensive tackle Henry Melton on Sunday, reports ESPN's Jenna Laine.

Melton played last season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, recording two sacks and 30 tackles as a backup defender.

The 29-year-old previously played for the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears, primarily as a depth player, tallying 34 starts over a six-year career.

He had a career season in 2012 with the Bears, registering six sacks and being named to the Pro Bowl.

The Broncos have room for a veteran on the line after recently releasing nose tackle Phil Taylor with an injury settlement, and placing defensive lineman Vance Walker on season-ending injured reserve.
