U.S. women win 6th straight 4x400m gold

The United States women's 4x400m relay team defended its Olympic title, yet again, with an impressive performance in Rio.

The Americans topped the Jamaicans in what was essentially a two-team race to win their sixth straight gold medal in the event. The U.S. finished with a time of 3:19.06, while Jamaica was a little over a second behind.

Great Britain took the bronze medal in a time of 3:25.88, while the Canadians finished fourth.

The win gives Allyson Felix, who ran the U.S. anchor leg, her third medal, including two golds, during the Rio games. She now has six golds and nine medals overall for her Olympic career, the most of any female in track history. Joining Felix on the top of the podium will be Courtney Okolo, Phyllis Francis, and Natasha Hastings.
