Butler: I'd be better NFL receiver than Thomas, Brown

Jimmy Butler is either extremely confident when it comes to his potential skills as an NFL wide receiver, or extremely delusional, which several members of the U.S. men's Olympic team believe him to be.

"I really love the game of football. I think I'm really good at it," Butler said on Saturday to ESPN. "I could probably take Demaryius Thomas' spot, Antonio Brown's spot. I told them they're lucky I'm playing in the Olympics, or I would be getting a franchise tag with one of their organizations."

When his teammates inevitably take part in their fantasy football drafts prior to the 2016-17 season, whether Butler was available to be picked or not, the Chicago Bulls guard would probably be left on the waiver wire, which Kevin Durant told him would be the case during practice.

"He's an idiot," Durant jokingly said.

"Jimmy has no shot. Jimmy's not as good a receiver as the worst receiver in the NFL," Draymond Green added.

While holding a game ball given to him by Thomas himself, Butler willingly backtracked on his assessment that he'd be a superior receiver than the Super Bowl champ.

"Ah, I may have exaggerated a little bit about being better than Demaryius and Antonio, but, I mean they're not going to find out that I said this on camera, so what's it matter?"

Whoops.

"Man, he know better than that. He know better," Thomas said to ESPN. "That's like me saying I'm better at basketball than him."
