Having put a dent in Derby County's promotion hopes not too long ago, James Wilson will try to repay the Rams this season.

On Saturday, Derby agreed to a deal that will see Wilson join the Rams on a season-long loan from Manchester United. The 20-year-old forward will link up with the club in the coming days.

"We're delighted to have agreed to bring James Wilson to the club on a season-long," Nigel Pearson, Derby's manager, said. "I hope that this loan deal will prove to be mutually beneficial for all parties and I would like to place on record our thanks to Manchester United for allowing James to join us. He is an energetic player who will add to our existing attacking options."

Wilson, a graduate of United's academy, spent the better part of last season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he tallied five goals, including a 94th-minute equaliser against Derby as the Rams were fighting for promotion to the Premier League.
