Chelsea midfielder Willian won't play a part in Saturday's match against Watford after picking up a slight calf injury ahead of the contest.

Manager Antonio Conte withdrew the Brazilian from the lineup as a precaution.

"He has a small problem with his calf so better not risked today," Conte said. "It's a little problem."

Pedro has come into the lineup instead in a distinct 4-1-4-1 formation, with N'Golo Kante playing in front of the defence.

Willian featured in Chelsea's Premier League opener against West Ham on Monday, lasting 80 minutes of the 2-1 win.

Before the trip to Vicarage Road, the 28-year-old hailed Conte's impact on the squad.

"The coach has improved our confidence," said Willian. "In training and at half-time he talks to us a lot which is very helpful."
