Report: Nuggets agree to deal with Nate Wolters

The Denver Nuggets have added some much-needed depth at point guard.

The team reached an agreement with free-agent guard Nate Wolters on Friday, league sources told Shams Charania of The Vertical.

Wolters, a 38th pick of the 2013 draft, played two seasons in the NBA as a backup with the Milwaukee Bucks and New Orleans Pelicans. Across 79 career appearances, he averaged 5.8 points and 2.6 assists while shooting 42.6 percent from the field.

Last season, Wolters failed to land an NBA contract, so the 25-year-old took his talents to Turkey, where he averaged 11.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.3 assists, and might have caught the eye of a Nuggets scout.

Denver could use a third-string point guard to provide injury insurance behind Jameer Nelson and Emmanuel Mudiay. That's likely where Wolters fits in.
