The Philadelphia Union's newest Designated Player signing Alejandro Bedoya is set to make his first start for the club as head coach Jim Curtin named the U.S. men's national team regular to the starting lineup for the team's Saturday evening match against the New England Revolution.

Bedoya - who joined the club last week after the Union acquired his rights from the Chicago Fire - will line up beside Warren Creavalle in the Union's midfield behind Tranquillo Barnetta, who will occupy the No. 10 spot.

His role as a central midfielder falls in line with the role he took on during his first training sessions with the club earlier in the week.

Bedoya's longtime friend Charlie Davies will start from the bench to take on his former team in the Eastern Conference tilt.
