Kentucky's Darius West to miss 2016 season with knee injury

The Kentucky secondary was dealt a huge blow Saturday, as head coach Mark Stoops announced safety Darius West suffered a knee injury and is likely to be sidelined for the entire 2016 season.
West had begun fall camp as the number one free safety option for Stoops, but now the Wildcat bench boss will look to the likes of Blake McClain and Marcus McWilson to fill the void.
West, a 6-feet, 206-pound sophomore, appeared in six games last season for the Wildcats, recording 17 tackles. A former four-star recruit, West was ranked 248th on the ESPN 300 for the class of 2014 and was also recruited by Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Oklahoma among others.
