An ankle injury suffered at the Pro Bowl earlier this year has put Tyler Eifert at risk of being sidelined to start the 2016 season.

Speaking with reporters at training camp Friday, the Cincinnati Bengals tight end indicated that he now intends to decline any future invites to the NFL's annual All-Star game.

Eifert, who remains in a walking boot two months after undergoing surgery, says he still doesn't have a timeline for his expected return.

Tyler Kroft will step in with the first-team offense in his absence, with free-agent addition Brandon LaFell presumably slotting behind A.J. Green as the No. 2 target in the passing game.

Eifert was rewarded with his first Pro Bowl nod after an incredibly productive 2015 campaign. Despite missing three games due to injury, the 25-year-old finished the season with 52 receptions for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns.
