The cross-country love affair for David Ortiz has reached the West Coast.

With the Boston Red Sox in town for the final time this season, the Los Angeles Angels honored Ortiz on field prior to the opener of the four-game set.

Several Angels players and coaches donned sunglasses and large gold chains in honor of the designated hitter, while Albert Pujols, Mike Trout, and Alfredo Griffin presented Ortiz with a portrait to thank him for his 20-year career.

Despite hitting hit the first home run of his Red Sox career in Anaheim, Angels Stadium has been less than kind to Ortiz. The slugger is hitting just .204/.292/.430 with 11 home runs in 51 games at the park.
