Baltimore Ravens rookie running back Kenneth Dixon was forced to the sidelines during his first training camp practice Thursday with a knee injury.

Head coach John Harbaugh initially told reporters that the injury was minor, and that Dixon could return as soon as Friday. A source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that the issue is a Grade 1 MCL sprain.

The reported diagnosis can indeed be considered minor, but Dixon is likely facing at least some sort of absence in the days ahead. As Rapoport suggests, Baltimore can be expected to proceed with caution.

Dixon, a fourth-round pick out of Louisiana Tech, will be competing alongside Justin Forsett, Javorius Allen, and Lorenzo Taliaferro throughout training camp and preseason action.

The 22-year-old is making the jump to the professional ranks after a highly productive college career, in which he tallied 4,482 rushing yards, 969 receiving yards, and 87 total touchdowns across four seasons.
