Watch: Reading reveals 2016-17 kits by launching them into space

Berkshire-based Championship outfit Reading FC is just one of many, many teams revealing new kits for the 2016-17 season, and while the blue-and-white hoop home shirt and florescent-yellow away strip are nothing too out of the ordinary, the way they were announced certainly was.

Rather than revealing the updated shirts in front of fans, media, or with a collection of players and models sporting different combinations of merchandise, Reading decided instead to hang the shirts on a rocket and blast them off into space.

The full video runs about 90 minutes and shows the flight in full, but the condensed version (above) cuts the whole journey down to less than three minutes.
