Top 5 dunks of Amar'e Stoudemire's career

Amar'e Stoudemire was more than a dunker. The once-dominant NBA big man, who retired from the league Tuesday, was a man of many tastes. Among them: bathing in red wine, and being upset enough after a playoff loss to punch out a glass fire extinguisher case.

But dunking was "STAT's" forte, and man, could he do it well. Here are the top five slams of his career:

5. Crowning Tyrus Thomas

The New York Knicks' Mike Bibby-Stoudemire pick-and-roll didn't last very long, but it paid off here against the Charlotte Bobcats in 2012.

4. Cramming on Richard Jefferson

The nemesis of the "seven-seconds-or-less" Phoenix Suns that Stoudemire and Steve Nash led in the mid-to-late-2000s was the San Antonio Spurs. Those Suns only defeated San Antonio once in four playoff meetings, but this regular-season slam in 2010 made up for some of the heartbreak.

3. Teaming up with Nash in the '05 dunk contest

Sure, it wasn't in a game, and he lost the 2005 Slam Dunk Contest to Josh Smith, but this was pretty sick.

2. Demoralizing Michael Olowokandi

Calling Michael Olowokandi a total bust might be a little harsh, but the No. 1 pick in the 1998 draft never lived up to expectations. In Stoudemire's rookie year in 2002-03, he loudly announced his arrival in the NBA to the Kandi Man.

1. Posterizing Anthony Tolliver

It's probably the dunk of Stoudemire's career, in his final season with the Suns. Side note: This is only six years ago, and look how different everything about Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors appeared.
