The St. Louis Cardinals have reportedly reached an agreement with top Cuban prospect Randy Arozarena, according to Ben Badler of Baseball America.

He'll receive a bonus of $1.25 million from the Cardinals.

Arozarena has played in both the outfield and at shortstop, as well as some second base during his career. The 21-year-old played for Cuban Series Nacional club Pinar Del Rio from 2013-14, and posted a .291/.412/.419 line with 12 doubles, 15 stolen bases, 36 walks, and 37 strikeouts in his final Cuban league season. In April 2015, Baseball America ranked him ninth on a list of the top 20 Cuban players who had not yet left the country.

He's been playing in Mexico this season with Toritos of the Mexican Northern League, where he owns a .377/.466/.555 line along with a league-leading 42 stolen bases. Arozarena had a brief showing at Mexico's highest level with Tijuana this season, where he went 2-for-20 with a pair of walks over five games.

The Cardinals were already over their international bonus pool limit for the 2016-17 international signing season, which opened on July 2. Arozarena's bonus is subject to international bonus pool restrictions.
