Ohio State lands 4-star DE Chase Young at Friday Night Lights event

Ohio State added to the No. 1 ranked 2017 recruiting class Friday by securing a commitment from four-star defensive end Chase Young.

Young spoke with Jeremy Birmingham of Landof10.com to discuss his reasoning behind his commitment to the Buckeyes just one day after visiting Alabama.

Young announced his commitment during the Ohio State Friday Night Lights event. The 6-foot-5, 226-pound recruit is ranked 32nd on the ESPN 300 for the 2017 class.

Young cited the setting as being part of the reason he chose to announce his commitment Friday night, and that the atmosphere at Ohio State is more to his liking than that of Alabama.

"I think family," Young stated as one of the primary reasons for choosing the Buckeyes over the Crimson Tide. "It's just more family oriented, you know, I feel like they, I feel more needed and wanted here."
