Magic's Meeks out indefinitely after foot surgery

Orlando Magic shooting guard Jodie Meeks underwent surgery on his right foot Tuesday and will be sidelined from basketball activity indefinitely.

Meeks was acquired from the Detroit Pistons on June 29. The right foot issue is the same one that limited him to only three games with Detroit last season.

It was hoped the acquisition of Meeks would add depth to the Magic backcourt after the trade of Victor Oladipo. In his last season as a regular contributor with the Pistons in 2014-15, Meeks averaged 11.1 points on 41.6 percent field goal shooting.
