Timberwolves' Tyus Jones named Summer League MVP
The underdog Minnesota Timberwolves owe a great deal of thanks to point guard Tyus Jones, who helped the team overcome a last-place seeding to advance all the way to the Las Vegas Summer League final.
For his efforts, Jones was named the Summer League Most Valuable Player following Minnesota's 93-83 victory over the Phoenix Suns in the semifinals on Sunday evening. He joins past winners Kyle Anderson, Glen Rice Jr., Jonas Valanciunas, Josh Selby, and Damian Lillard.
The 20-year-old point guard averaged 19.4 points on 45.7 percent shooting, 6.3 assists, and four rebounds in 33.4 minutes over seven games.
Jones also earned a spot on the Samsung All-NBA Summer League First Team.
