Linebacker Jonathan Pollock has decided to transfer out of the Rutgers football program.

Pollock had originally committed to former coach Kyle Flood and remained with the Scarlet Knights when Chris Ash was named coach after Flood was fired.

"He loves Rutgers. He loves Chris. He loves his teammates. He’s going to miss them. He was committed there for a year and a half and he loved his time there," Pollock's father told Keith Sargeant of nj.com. He added "It just didn’t work out."

The 6-feet, 209 pound linebacker also had offers from Indiana, Mississippi State, North Carolina and SMU.

"I want to thank everyone for all the positive support and love I've received these past couple of days with making my decision, especially my brothers in that locker room that bled and sweat with me," Pollock wrote on Twitter.

The Orlando, Fla. native is the fifth player to transfer out of Rutgers since Ash took over back in December.
