Aaron Sanchez joined an elite group of Toronto Blue Jays pitchers Monday night.

With Toronto's 4-2 win over the San Diego Padres, Sanchez notched his 11th win of the season. In the process, he became the first pitcher in club history to win 10 consecutive decisions since Roy Halladay claimed 15 in a row in 2003.

Pitcher Consecutive Decisions Won Year
Roger Clemens 15 1998
Roy Halladay 15 2003
Roger Clemens 11 1997
Juan Guzman 10 1991
Aaron Sanchez 10 2016

As a decision looms on whether Toronto will move Sanchez to the bullpen, he's making his case to stay in the rotation.

“He’s putting himself in the elite class in baseball at a young age," manager John Gibbons told reporters after the win.

In his sophomore season as a full-time major leaguer, the 24-year-old is 11-1 with a sparkling 2.72 ERA and 115 strikeouts in 132 1/3 innings.

He was also named an All-Star for the first time in his young career.
