Despite his coded lobbying for NBA work with either the Golden State Warriors or the Cleveland Cavaliers, Larry Sanders will reportedly not land with Golden State, according to ESPN's Ethan Sherwood Strauss.

Sanders hasn't played an NBA game since December 2014, taking a buyout shortly afterward from the Milwaukee Bucks. He is slated to be paid $1.8 million per season through 2022 thanks to the stretch provision. Sanders said that at that time he was dealing with mental health issues, but said he wanted to return to the league when he was well enough.

Sanders, only 27, was an elite rim protector and defensive force from 2011-14 with the Bucks and could likely help any team with needs in that department. If the Warriors have anything close to a hole on their roster it would be a defensive anchor at center after the departure of Andrew Bogut.

Sanders does appear serious about a return, tweeting this on Sunday:
