Sullinger, Raptors agree to reported 1-year deal

The Toronto Raptors have reached an agreement on a one-year contract with unrestricted free agent Jared Sullinger, league sources told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The deal is believed to be in the $6-million range, according to ESPN's Marc Stein, with the Toronto Sun's Ryan Wolstat adding that the Raptors will use their (non-taxpayer) mid-level exception to sign Sullinger.

Before any reports had emerged, Sullinger appeared to confirm the deal on his own end, tweeting "We the North" and changing his Twitter picture to the team's logo.

The Boston Celtics renounced Sullinger's qualifying offer on Sunday night, rendering him a free agent.

Sullinger was arguably the most productive big man in a crowded Boston Celtics frontcourt this past season, averaging 15.7 points, 12.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per 36 minutes.

The Ohio State product is coming off of three consecutive solid seasons in Boston and could fit well next to starting center Jonas Valanciunas should he regain his form from mid-range.

With Sullinger on the roster, the Raptors will likely officially announce the signing of DeMar DeRozan in the coming days.
