The hottest golfer on tour doesn't want to risk it, either.

Dustin Johnson, the No. 1 player in the Olympic Golf Ranking and one of four named to the U.S. roster last week, announced Friday via Golf Channel that he won't compete at Rio 2016, citing concerns over the Zika virus.

Johnson joins World No. 1 Jason Day and Rory McIlroy among the high-profile names who won't risk participation in the sport's long-awaited return to the Olympics.

Patrick Reed is the next ranked American male, and will have the opportunity to join Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson, and Rickie Fowler on the American squad.
