Cron breaks hand after getting hit by pitch

The Los Angeles Angels' disabled list will have another addition as first baseman C.J. Cron suffered a fracture in his left hand after being hit by a Mike Wright pitch in the sixth inning Friday against the Baltimore Orioles.

Cron will visit a specialist Monday and was added to the Angels disabled list, which already features an abnormally large number of players.

The 26-year-old Cron was one of the Angels' most productive hitters, slashing .278/.333/.475 with 11 home runs and 50 RBIs before getting injured.

Over the last seven games, the former first-round draft choice was on fire, leading the Angels in home runs (4), RBIs (13), slugging percentage (.857), and OPS (1.263).
