Ozil to Koscielny: 'We are not Iceland'

Just in case Laurent Koscielny was under the impression France would cruise to the finals ahead of Thursday's match against Germany, Arsenal teammate Mesut Ozil provided a bit of advice before the encounter.

The Arsenal players, who will clash in Marseille for a chance to play in Sunday's final, took vastly different roads to reach this point of Euro 2016, with Germany being forced to get past an impressive Italian side while the hosts were pitted against tournament debutants Iceland.

With the 5-2 victory fresh in Koscielny's mind, Ozil decided to remind the French defender that the semi-final between the familiar foes won't produce the same lopsided result.

"After the quarterfinal I texted Koscielny to say that we are not Iceland," Ozil told reporters. "He replied that it will be big match in Marseille, for us and the fans. We are all looking forward to it."

The match figures to be one of the marquee events of the Euros as the tournament favourites fight for a chance to face Portugal for all the glory.
