Grad transfer Malcolm Bernard decommits from Richmond

Amber Searls-USA TODAY Sports

Two months after committing to Richmond as a graduate transfer for the 2016-17 season, Malcolm Bernard told ESPN's Jeff Borzello he has changed his mind and will reopen his recruitment for his final collegiate campaign.

The former Florida A&M standout was set for a big role with the Spiders, coming off a junior season with the Rattlers that saw him average 14.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.

Bernard will be eligible immediately as per NCAA graduate transfer rules, and could be a big piece for a contending team looking for offensive firepower from the backcourt position.
