Baltimore Ravens tight end Darren Waller has been suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Waller played sparingly last season, catching two passes for 18 yards.

The 23-year-old was converted from wide receiver to tight end in March.

"We just feel like a 250-pound wide receiver who can run like he can has a chance to maybe grow into a tight end," Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said at the time via the team's official website. "He's embraced it, and he's working on that right now in the offseason."

Waller isn't the only Ravens tight end suspended for the upcoming season, as Nick Boyle was sanctioned for 10 games due to a performance-enhancing drug violation in February.
