The New York Mets are set to activate infielder Jose Reyes on Tuesday, the club announced Monday.

Reyes is on his way to New York, according to the Mets, and could make his season debut Tuesday against the Miami Marlins at Citi Field.

The 33-year-old has not played in the big leagues this season after serving a 51-game suspension for violating MLB's domestic violence policy after an incident with his wife in October. He was released by the Colorado Rockies in late June.

Since being signed as a free agent by the Mets, Reyes has been plying his trade in the club's minor-league system as he worked his way back to the majors. In eight games with the Double-A Binghamton Mets, Reyes slashed .240/.310/.280 in 25 at-bats.
