Report: Knicks expected to sign Noah for roughly $18M per season

Joakim Noah is expected to reunite with former teammate Derrick Rose and sign with the New York Knicks when he becomes an unrestricted free agent, according to Tim Bontemps of The Washington Post.

The deal, which "will almost certainly" be completed, is believed to be in the range of $18 million per season, although the length of the deal was not reported.

Multiple teams interested in Noah consider the Knicks the favorite to land the center, ESPN's Marc Stein reported earlier Wednesday. He's expected to meet with president Phil Jackson after midnight July 1, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.

The Knicks left themselves a gaping hole at center after trading Robin Lopez to the Chicago Bulls last week. Noah struggled in a backup role last season, and is almost certain to return to the starting lineup should he sign with New York.

In 29 games, Noah averaged a career-low 4.3 points, while shooting just 38.3 percent from the field. The 31-year-old has averaged 9.3 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks over nine NBA seasons.

The Washington Wizards, Golden State Warriors, and Minnesota Timberwolves are among the other teams reportedly interested in Noah's services.
