Rehabbing Sano takes pop-up off head

Miguel Sano may want to consider a fielding helmet next time out.

The Minnesota Twins slugger suffered a pretty humiliating moment during his rehab assignment with Triple-A Rochester on Wednesday. With two on in the bottom of the fifth, Pawtucket's Justin Maxwell hit a towering pop-up on the infield. Sano, playing third base, moved into position, lost the ball in the sun, and was promptly plunked in the noggin by the baseball.

Fortunately for Sano, the embarrassment ended right there. Rochester first baseman James Beresford snagged the deflection off Sano's head with a remarkable diving grab to record the final out of the inning.

Somewhere, Jose Canseco is watching this and wondering why another outfielder didn't catch the deflection off his head.
