Bowlsby says he's spoken to Baylor, hasn't received requested docs
Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby said Wednesday he's spoken to Baylor regarding the school's alleged sexual assault scandal, but is still waiting on the related documents he requested on behalf of the league.
In an interview with Dan Wolken of USA TODAY Sports, Bowlsby applauded the Bears for being "as responsive as I could have asked given all the circumstances," but noted he hasn't received the documents he asked for.
Bowlsby added that the Bears "understand our needs, and we understand their limitations more."
Baylor could face potential NCAA sanctions if found guilty of covering up sexual assault allegations against various football players, though such an investigative process likely wouldn't result in penalties for a significant period of time. The Big 12 could also take some form of action against Baylor.
In response to Bowlsby's request for the documents a week ago, Baylor stated it hoped to arrange a meeting with the commissioner, but expressed hesitation with revealing information that would infringe upon the alleged victims' privacy.
