Wade Redden is back in the NHL.

The former All-Star defenseman has been hired by the Nashville Predators as their new assistant director of player development, the team announced Monday.

The 39-year-old retired in 2014 after playing in over 1,000 NHL games. Redden last suited up for the Boston Bruins, but spent the majority of his career with the Ottawa Senators. One of his former teammates is particularly excited to see him making the move to Tennessee.
