Ever Alvarado will be a Sporting Kansas City player on Independence Day.

The Honduran international will complete his transfer from club football in his homeland when the MLS Secondary Transfer Window opens July 4, pending receipt International Transfer Certificate and P-1 Visa. He'll take up an international spot on KC's roster.

"Ever is a player we have been looking at for a while. He has a very good understanding of our region of the world being that he has played his entire career in CONCACAF," Sporting KC manager Peter Vermes said in a statement. "Players from Honduras have always adapted well to MLS and we think he will not only help us in League play, but with other competitions we have coming up."

Alvarado, 24, has previously represented Real Espana and Olimpia, and will compete with numerous players who can fulfill the left-back position in Seth Sinovic, Amadou Dia, and Jimmy Medranda.

"I am very excited to be given the opportunity to play for Sporting KC," Alvarado said. "It is a great club with a great history. I'm going to work hard and do everything I can to help the team be successful."

He could make his debut against New York City FC at Children's Mercy Park on July 10.
