The Milwaukee Brewers announced Saturday the signing of first-round pick Corey Ray.

The Louisville outfielder was selected fifth overall in the recent MLB draft and reportedly signed for $4.125 million, according to MLB Network's Jon Heyman. His deal surpasses the previous team record of $3.6 million given to Rickie Weeks in 2003.

The allotted slot value for Ray's pick was $4.382 million.

Ray was a collegiate standout and was ranked as the top position player available at the draft after hitting .325 with 11 home runs and 56 RBIs in 2015.
