Nolito: I haven't joined Manchester City 'for now'

Celta Vigo winger Nolito admits he hasn't talked with Pep Guardiola over an expected move to Manchester City, but didn't rule out a transfer in the future.

The 29-year-old is currently with the Spanish national team at Euro 2016, but recent reports suggested that a deal to take him to City was close after the club activated his bargain release clause of £13.8 million.

There was apparent interest for Nolito from Barcelona, where he made his first strides at the top level under Guardiola after progressing from lower-league football. However, City is believed to be confident in securing a deal for the Andalusian regardless.

"We'll see what happens with my future, but I'm not complaining about how things are going on the pitch for me," Nolito told the Spanish radio station COPE, with translation from the Guardian.

"For now, I've not signed for City, I don't lie - we'll see."

When asked if he had been in conversation with his old boss Guardiola, he replied: "No. In life you have to be brave and make decisions and I dedicate myself to playing football, which is my passion."

Nolito is currently readying for a blockbuster Round of 16 clash against Italy on Monday, and has one goal and one assist to show for his three Spain appearances at Euro 2016.
