The Sacramento Kings are heavily engaged in trade talks and are looking to land Los Angeles Lakers point guard D'Angelo Russell, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.

The Kings have a clear hole at the point guard position with Rajon Rondo likely to leave the team this offseason. While Russell is still raw, he showed promise during the latter half of 2015-16, and would likely serve as the Kings' starter next season.

Sacramento has reportedly been engaged in trade talks the entire week, and already moved Marco Belinelli to the Charlotte Hornets earlier on Thursday. The Kings selected Georgios Papagiannis and Malachi Richardson after first-round draft deals with Charlotte and Phoenix, and could theoretically move one or both in a trade with Los Angeles.

The 19-year-old averaged 13.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.2 steals on 41 percent shooting in his first NBA season.
