Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant will not be taking part in a longstanding tradition.

Bryant was spotted outside by TMZ Sports and was asked about hazing rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott, prompting an awkward exchange. Elliott was selected fourth overall by the Cowboys in the 2016 NFL Draft.

Reporter: Are you going to make Ezekiel take you out to a rookie dinner?
Bryant: Na, none of that.
Reporter: But you paid 55 grand for your one?
Bryant: We don't do that in Dallas anymore.
Reporter: Oh, it's been cancelled? Rookie hazing has been cancelled?
Bryant: Yeah, we don't do that.
Reporter: Is that right?
Bryant: That's right.
Reporter: So now you're going to pay for your own dinners?
Bryant: Ain't nothing wrong with it.
Reporter: Is there no hazing of Ezekiel Elliott in the slightest?
Bryant: Nah. We need him, we need his mind to be right.

Earlier in his career, Bryant was maligned for his on-field outbursts, but it's evident that he's progressed and matured into one of the leaders of the Cowboys franchise over time.
