5 best moments from Super Bowl parades

Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports

The City of Cleveland celebrated in style Wednesday, lauding the Cavaliers for their victory over the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. With the victory, Cleveland snapped a 52-year title drought that predates the Super Bowl era, when the Browns captured the NFL championship in 1964.

Here, we take a look back at some of the best moments from Super Bowl parades.

Cruz salsas his way through New York

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz unleashed his trademark celebration, entertaining the crowd during the team's parade. Cruz is known to salsa after every touchdown, and he was up to the task on a crowded float.

Lewis bids farewell

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis saved arguably the finest performance of his career for the 2012 playoffs. Lewis announced that he'd retire at the end of the year prior to the postseason, then recorded 51 tackles in four playoff games. One of the all-time great linebackers, Lewis used the moment as a final goodbye to Baltimore.

Lynch throws Skittles into the crowd

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is an unabashed Skittles fan, and dispelled some of his favorite candy to an awe-struck gathering. Lynch was decked out in a "Beast Mode" tracksuit while sitting atop his own float, and he hurled the candy into the crowd, furthering engendering his status as a cult hero.

Gronkowski jumps out of the bus, twerks

New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski carries an air of accessibility and that didn't change during the team's procession. Gronkowski hopped out of the team float to take photos with fans, did pushups, and twerked on command. All in all, not a bad day.

Manning's coronation

Peyton Manning hadn't retired when the Denver Broncos were acclaimed for their Super Bowl victory, but the march definitely felt like a fitting ending to his career. Manning tried to blend in with his teammates, but he stood out despite his best efforts to keep a low profile. Eventually, Manning retired in March, capping off one of the greatest careers in NFL history.
