Florida will not be hiring a search firm to find a replacement for Jeremy Foley.

Instead, the Gators have set up an eight-person committee to handle the search for a new athletic director. Foley will be stepping down in October after 25 years on the job.

"It is important that we identify a slate of qualified candidates who can build on the UAA's previous successes," President Ken Fuchs said. "I am confident the search committee, under the capable leadership of Manny Fernandez, will help us identify the very best.''

The committee will be led by University Athletic Association board chairman Manny Fernandez.
