Report: Caron Butler exercises player option with Kings

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Veteran forward Caron Butler has elected to exercise his $1.5 million player option with the Sacramento Kings for the 2015-16 season, league sources told The Vertical's Shams Charania.

Butler, 36, signed a two-year, $3-million deal with the franchise last summer.

In just 17 appearances, Butler averaged career lows across the board in points per game (3.7), rebounds (1.3), assists (0.6), and minutes (10.4).

He's a two-time NBA All-Star from his days with the Washington Wizards, and owns one ring as a member of the 2011 Dallas Mavericks.
