Longtime president and general manager Bill Polian will be inducted into the Indianapolis Colts' Ring of Honor this season, the team announced Monday.

Polian spent 14 years with the Colts from 1998-2011, serving as the architect of a team that compiled a 143-81 regular-season record, eight division titles, and one Super Bowl over that stretch.

"Bill was incredibly successful during his time with our franchise and proved to be a Hall of Famer," Colts owner Jim Irsay said in a statement. "He was one of the most innovative personalities to ever grace our sport, and his passion for the game was and still is unmatched. I will always be grateful to Bill for his contributions to the Colts, and to the NFL."

The most crucial move in his success with the Colts was, of course, selecting Peyton Manning with the No. 1 overall pick in 1998.

Indianapolis would go on to qualify for the playoffs in all but two of the seasons with Manning under center from that point forward.

Polian, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015, is scheduled to officially join the Colts' Ring of Honor in halftime ceremony during a Week 17 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He becomes the 13th member of the legendary group, joining Robert Irsay, Bill Brooks, Ted Marchibroda, Chris Hinton, Jim Harbaugh, Colts Nation, Tony Dungy, Marvin Harrison, Edgerrin James, Eric Dickerson, Marshall Faulk, and Jeff Saturday.
