Veteran third baseman Yunel Escobar is drawing interest from several clubs, but a quick move across the state of Los Angeles from Anaheim to the Bay Area could be the most likely.

The San Francisco Giants are among a number of teams showing interest in the Los Angeles Angels infielder, ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports.

Crasnick reports the Angels are listening to offers being made for Escobar, who came to the Angels in an offseason trade with the Washington Nationals.

Matt Duffy, who's on the 15-day disabled list with an Achilles strain, hasn't produced during his sophomore campaign like he did in his rookie season, slashing .253/.313/.358, so the addition of Escobar could supplement some of the lost production.

The 33-year-old Cuban has played well for an underachieving Angels squad, slashing .310/.359/.409 with three home runs, 18 doubles, and 20 RBIs.

Escobar has had a hard time finding a permanent home, playing for four clubs over the last four seasons, but comes with a lifetime OPS of .737 and the ability to play multiple infield positions.

He's earning $7 million this season with $1.5 million of the contract being picked up by the Nationals, and also has a $7-million team option for 2017 with a $1-million buyout.
