Peterson: Vikings should trade anyone who thinks they can't win Super Bowl

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has a long and storied history of predicting his team would be Super Bowl champions.

Essentially, he's predicted the Vikings will win since coming into the league in 2007 and this year is no different. While doubling down on his belief in the Vikings, Peterson made it known that anyone who didn't feel the same way should be shipped out of town.

"I always say that, but ... this year … I really can see it," Peterson told reporters, according to Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press. "We have a long way to go, but we have the pieces and what it takes to accomplish that. There's nothing wrong with saying it. If any other guy on this team doesn't feel that way, then we need to be trading him and bringing somebody else in who feels that way as well. We all know what we're trying to accomplish, and I feel like we have what it takes to accomplish that."

Peterson may not be wrong. The Vikings made huge strides in 2015, turning around a 7-9 team and winning the NFC North. With quarterback Teddy Bridgewater developing and the franchise making significant efforts to surround him with weapons - like first round receiver Laquon Treadwell - the Vikings are trending in the right direction.

Peterson, who has said he believes he could play at a "high level" until he's 40, is starting to feel a sense of urgency though. With a defense that's ready to win now, the Vikings have a window that could rapidly close in a salary cap era despite their best efforts.

"I don’t see an end in my future anywhere soon, but of course, I know I’m coming around the last lap," Peterson said. "And I'm itching to get a couple (Super Bowl wins) before I'm done playing this game. So, we need to start immediately."
