Lewis Hamilton says F1 drivers moan too much

Shortly after setting the fastest lap in Friday's practice session at the European Grand Prix, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton railed on his fellow competitors for complaining too much about the new Baku track.

Earlier this week, Formula One drivers voiced concerns over the new street circuit that runs through the center of the Azerbaijan capital city. Among those to complain was Hamilton's teammate, current championship leader Nico Rosberg, who said the close proximity of walls and lack of runoff space on the corners made for a "little bit of concern" with drivers.

Hamilton was decidedly less critical of the new track, saying the bumpy roads and quick turns should be embraced.

"One thing for sure is that these drivers moan so much about so many things," said Hamilton, according to Sky Sports.

"It is really bumpy down the main straight and you can't see turn one really well, but that is part of racing," he added. "These guys wants it to be smoother than ever with no vibrations and no bumps and take all the character out of these tracks."

Hamilton might be singing a different tune Saturday after clipping his right front wheel on a wall at the Turn 10 exit and crashing out of qualifying. Rosberg claimed the pole position for Sunday's race, while Hamilton qualified 10th.
