Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout left Sunday's game against the Cleveland Indians in the bottom of the eighth inning after taking a Tommy Hunter fastball off the right hand.

Luckily, Trout only suffered a right thumb contusion on the play and X-rays came back negative, according to Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times. Manager Mike Scioscia said he expects the 24-year-old to play Monday against the Minnesota Twins.

On a 2-1 count, Hunter threw a 93-mph fastball high and inside on Trout that caught the Angels center fielder on the right hand. Trout immediately reacted in pain and was attended to by Scioscia and a trainer.

Shane Robinson replaced Trout as a pinch runner.
