Madden 17 features new commentary team, updated calls

EA SPORTS/YouTube

EA Sports is going in a different direction for the 2017 edition of the NFL's favorite video game.

Instead of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms providing their voices, EA has brought in Brandon Gaudin to give play by play and Charles Davis for color commentary. Gaudin has called Georgia Tech sports since 2013 and will be calling games on the Big Ten Network next season. Davis has been an analyst for the NFL Network and FOX Sports after playing college football at Tennessee.

Gaudin and Davis will be providing updated commentary during the season after each week to accurately reflect the state of the ever-changing NFL.

According to EA Sports:

This means that if a player or team has a monster week, you will hear about it shortly after in the game. Brandon and Charles will be in studio with us throughout the course of the season, recording the latest content to help bridge the gap between what you see on Sunday, and what you hear when you boot up your game.
