The good vibes are contagious in the city of rock and roll.

Hours before the Cavaliers brought Cleveland its first professional championship in 52 years, Jose Ramirez's walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th lifted the first-place Indians to a pivotal sweep over the White Sox, and laid the groundwork for a Sunday night party decades in the making.

Several Indians players took to Twitter in the aftermath of the Cavs' historic Game 7 win over the Warriors, joining the sports world and Northeast Ohio in celebrating Cleveland's first pro title since the Browns won the NFL championship on Dec. 27, 1964.

Meanwhile, the Indians are hoping the Cavaliers' good fortunes rub off on the rest of the city. The Tribe hasn't made the playoffs since 2013 and the last time it advanced to the World Series, the club lost in seven games to the Florida Marlins. Two years earlier, the Indians were defeated in six games by the Atlanta Braves.

"Our fans ride or die," Cavaliers star and NBA Finals MVP LeBron James said after the thrilling 93-89 win. "Whether it's the Browns, the Indians, or the Cavs, they continue to support us, and for us to be able to end this drought, our fans deserve it. This was for them."

Cleveland's 3-2 win over Chicago on Sunday improved the club to eight games over .500 - the Indians were just 32-36 at this point last year - and helped the Tribe maintain its slim half-game lead on Kansas City in the AL Central.
