Juventus' Gianluigi Buffon: Historic season despite advancing age

Buffon had an excellent season, leading the Biancaneri to a Serie A record 29 wins while compiling a defensive record 12 goals better than the closest competitor.

Analysis:

The 38-year-old kept a whopping 25 clean sheets in all competitions, and came within a goal of leading his club past Bayern Munich and into the latter stages of the Champions League. Buffon's current contract runs for two more seasons, and he is currently preparing to participate in Euro 2016 with the Italian national team this summer before reprising his role as Serie A's top shot-stopper.
