Georgia AD apologizes for Ludacris' spring game rider, fee

You can probably call Ludacris a one-and-done experience at Georgia.

More than a month after the Bulldogs athletic department reportedly shelled out over $65,000 and a huge hospitality rider to get the rapper to perform at Georgia's spring game, athletic director Greg McGarity acknowledged it was an ill-advised use of resources.

"I do want to take this opportunity to apologize to our board for mistakes we made with certain aspects of the details of an entertainment agreement," he said at a quarterly meeting Thursday, according to Marc Weiszer of The Athens Banner-Herald. "Few things in my professional life have bothered me more than this situation. There are no reruns in life so we need to turn the page, learn from our mistakes and do everything we can to make sure errors of this nature do not reoccur."

Georgia reportedly gave Ludacris $65,000, as well as dinner in a hospitality suite for 10 people, and a dressing room stocked with snacks, T-shirts, alcohol, and condoms in exchange for his performance.

Georgia's spring game attracted about 93,000 fans, but many of them were upset upon learning what the school paid for Ludacris' musical services.
