Arian Foster says he probably needs another month before return

Free-agent running back Arian Foster says he's weeks away from returning to his old self.

The former Houston Texans tailback remains unsigned, largely because he's still recovering from a torn Achilles suffered in Week 7 of last season.

That could change soon.

"I probably need another month to get where I am, the person everyone is used to seeing," Foster told KTRK in Houston. "I can definitely play but I need another month to be where I want to be and be at that Pro Bowl level I can be at."

Foster will turn 30 just before the start of the regular season, something that could scare off teams. The list of running backs on the wrong side of 30 and coming off Achilles injuries who were able to turn in a productive season is very short.

Foster has proven to have a knack for coming back strong from injuries, however. There are still several teams in need to reinforcements at running back and he's surely get a close look from a few of them.
